Ceiling Lights Buying Guide
Ceiling lights do the everyday work in a room: the light you reach for first and leave on longest. Flush and semi-flush fittings sit close to the ceiling, which makes them the safe choice under 2.4 metres or anywhere people walk.
What to look for
- Flush where headroom is tight — hallways, landings, low bedrooms.
- Semi-flush where you have a little more height and want some shape.
- Diffused shades spread light evenly; open shades throw more of it downward.
Before you order
- Check the dimensions. Every Laruya product page lists them, so you can measure the space first.
- Check the power supply. Some fittings are hardwired and need a qualified electrician; others simply plug in.
- Pick your colour temperature. Warm white around 3000K for a relaxed room, cool white around 6000K where you need to see clearly.
