Amber glass over a brass-toned canopy, in a shape that has been on ceilings since the 1930s. The glass is what does the work here: it tints the light from a single E27 bulb on the way out, so you get a honey-coloured cast instead of a bare white bulb.

About the light it gives
The bulb supplied with this fitting is cool white, 6000K. Through amber glass that reads as a clear, bright light with a warm tint — useful in a hallway or a kitchen, where you want to see what you are doing.
If you want the softer, candle-like glow shown in the photographs, fit a warm white E27 bulb instead, around 2200–2700K. That is the point of the E27 base: the bulb is the part you can change, and it costs a few pounds. An Edison-style filament bulb at 2200K gives the closest match to the images.
Two versions, one shade
The same Ø 28 cm shade comes two ways, and this is the choice most people get wrong.
- Ceiling light — H 17 cm, £84.95. Sits flush against the ceiling. This is the one for a hallway, a landing, a bedroom, or any ceiling under about 2.4 m, where a hanging light would be in the way.
- Pendant light — H 32 cm, £124.95. The same shade on a 15 cm stem. Made to hang over something — a dining table, a kitchen island, a stairwell — where the extra drop puts the glow at eye level rather than overhead.

Installation
- Hardwired to a ceiling point, AC 110–220V. There is no plug, so fit it with a qualified electrician.
- One E27 bulb, included. An Edison-style filament bulb suits the vintage look; a standard LED gives more light for less power.
- No remote and no dimmer built in. If you want to dim it, use a dimmable bulb on a dimmer switch.
- Glass shade. Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. Let it cool first.
- Indoor use only.
