Pendant Lights Buying Guide
A pendant is the one fitting people notice. Over a table or an island it sets the whole room, so the drop height matters as much as the design.
Getting the height right
- Over a dining table, hang the shade roughly 75–90cm above the surface, so it lights the table without blocking a sightline.
- Over a kitchen island, the same range works; multiple smaller pendants usually beat one large one.
- In a stairwell or hallway, keep at least 2.1 metres of clearance underneath.
Before you order
- Check the dimensions. Every Laruya product page lists them, so you can measure the space first.
- Check the power supply. Some fittings are hardwired and need a qualified electrician; others simply plug in.
- Pick your colour temperature. Warm white around 3000K for a relaxed room, cool white around 6000K where you need to see clearly.
