Floor Lamps Buying Guide
A floor lamp is the easiest way to change a room, because it needs no installation at all — it plugs in and moves with you.
Choosing one
- Reading corner: look for a directional or arched shade you can aim.
- Ambient light: a diffused or paper shade spreads a softer glow.
- Check the flex length against the distance to your nearest socket.
Before you order
- Check the dimensions. Every Laruya product page lists them, so you can measure the space first.
- Check the power supply. Some fittings are hardwired and need a qualified electrician; others simply plug in.
- Pick your colour temperature. Warm white around 3000K for a relaxed room, cool white around 6000K where you need to see clearly.
