A thick shaggy mat holds water long after you have left the room, which is how bathroom mats end up smelling. This one is woven flat and tight: it takes the water off your feet, spreads it across a wide surface, and gives it back to the air within the hour. It also fits under a door that clears the floor by a centimetre, which a deep pile does not.
Choosing your size

46 x 70 cm — £39.95. In front of a basin, a toilet, or a shower tray. The standard size, and the one most people already own.
61 x 89 cm — £54.95. A proper step-out mat: both feet land on it when you get out of the bath, not one foot on and one on cold tile.
61 x 119 cm — £69.95. Runs the full length of a standard 170 cm bath, or covers the floor between a double basin and the shower. For larger bathrooms where a small mat looks lost.
Washing
Machine wash cold or at 30°C. Wash it with towels, not with anything that sheds lint.
Tumble dry on low, or air dry. A hot dryer is what perishes the rubber backing on any bath mat.
Do not iron the backing.
